آن‌که سرشتِ راستین را می‌داند، بی‌سخن می‌گوید؛
و آن‌که بی‌سرشتِ راستین می‌گوید، هیچ نمی‌گوید.

آن‌که درهایِ هوس را فرو می‌بندد، روزنِ جان را می‌گشاید؛
نرم و مهربان، بی‌پیرایه و فروتن است؛
نورش ژرف و نوازشگر،
با گیتی یک‌رنگ و هماهنگ است.

او دور است و نزدیک،
فرود است و فراز؛
نه می‌توان به او سود رساند، نه زیان؛
نه می‌توان او را گرامی داشت، نه خوار کرد.

همه اصل است و ریشه،
بی‌دوگانگی، بی‌نمود.

در آرامشِ بی‌کران،
والاترین گوهرِ جهان است.

The Fifty-Sixth Notebook

One who knows Fundamental Nature speaks without words;
one who speaks without Fundamental Nature says nothing.

One who closes the gates of desire opens the window of the soul;
gentle and kind, unadorned and humble;
his light is deep and soothing,
in harmony and accord with the world.

He is distant and near,
low and high;
neither benefit nor harm can be done to him;
neither can he be honored nor despised.

All is Principle and Root,
free of duality, beyond appearances.

In boundless tranquility,
he is the world’s highest
