آن‌که سرشتِ راستین را پاس می‌دارد،
پیشاپیش کنش‌ها را مهار می‌کند؛

توانش بی‌کران است،
و از زور بی‌نیاز.

خویشتن‌دار و کم‌خواه است،
و پایا و مانا؛

آن‌که مادرِ کشور را نگه می‌دارد، کشورش ایمن،
و مردمانش ژرف‌انگار می‌گردند.

این است زیستنِ ریشه‌دار،
ماندگاریِ راستین،
و دیدنِ فراسویِ آغاز.

The Fifty-Ninth Notebook

One who preserves Fundamental Nature
restrains actions before they arise;

his strength is boundless,
and he has no need for force.

Self-disciplined and free of excess desire,
he is enduring and lasting;

one who preserves the Mother of the nation
keeps the nation secure,
and its people become deep in their understanding.

This is the way of rooted living,
true endurance,
and seeing beyond the beginning.
