سرشتِ بنیادینِ انسان، جان‌پناهِ رازآلودِ مردمان است؛
گنجینه‌ی نیک‌اندیشان،
و پناهِ بدسگالان.

گفتارِ نیک، دل‌نشین است،
و کردارِ نیک، دل‌رُبا؛
چگونه نازیبا رو نیاورد؟

سرشتِ راستینِ انسان از هر دهشِ شاهانه برتر است؛
زیرا راه‌جویان را راه‌بَر است،
و گم‌راهان را پناهگاه.

پس والاترینِ جهان است.

The primordial nature of the human
is the mysterious sanctuary of the people;
a treasury for the well-intentioned,
and a refuge for the ill-disposed.
Good speech is heart-pleasing,
and good conduct heart-captivating;
how could the unbeautiful fail to be drawn near?
The true nature of the human
surpasses every royal offering;
for it guides the seekers of the Way,
and shelters the lost.
Thus, it is the most exalted in the world.
