آن‌گاه که سرشتِ راستین تابان شود:
سپاهیِ شایسته، جنگ‌ نمی‌فروزد؛
رزمنده‌ی شایسته، خشم نمی‌ورزد؛
پیروزِ شایسته، ستیزه نمی‌جوید؛
و رهبرِ شایسته، فروتن می‌گردد.

این است فرّهٔ ناستیزی؛
این است هنرِ رهبریِ مردمان؛
این است هماهنگی با آسمان؛
و همبستگی با سرشتِ آغازین.

When Fundamental Nature becomes radiant:

the worthy army does not wage war;
the worthy warrior does not give way to anger;
the worthy victor does not seek conflict;
and the worthy leader becomes humble.

This is the radiance of non-contention;
this is the art of leading the people;
this is harmony with Heaven;
and union with the primordial nature.
