بازگشتِ همه، به سوی اوست؛
بازگشت به آغاز.

با حواسی جمع، و سرشتِ بنیادین،
نرم و خاموش،
در رشته‌ی دائو می‌آسایم.

همه‌ی باشندگان، از آن‌اند؛
و آن، نیستی‌ست که هستی از آن می‌جوشد.

The Fortieth Notebook

The return of all things is toward it;
a return to the beginning.
With gathered senses and Fundamental Nature,
soft and silent,
I rest within the thread of the Dao.

All beings belong to it;
and it is the Non-Being
from which Being springs.
